This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of Talam (“Talam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information through talamgame.com, the Talam launcher, authentication service, game client, game servers, support channels, and private testing programs.
Information we collect
- Account information: username, normalized account identifiers, password hashes, account status, roles, creation and last-login times.
- Game information: characters, appearance, progression, inventory, equipment, housing, position, quests, reputation, settlements, chat, moderation state, and gameplay events.
- Technical information: IP address, device and operating-system details, client and protocol versions, connection events, crash reports, security events, and launcher/update logs.
- Support information: messages, attachments, diagnostic files, case history, and information supplied to verify account ownership.
- Website information: standard server logs, security records, cookies required for WordPress administration, and any analytics disclosed through a future consent notice.
How we use information
We use information to operate and secure Talam; authenticate accounts; provide multiplayer, progression, inventory, housing, chat, and support; deliver signed updates; prevent cheating, fraud, abuse, and duplication; enforce community rules; investigate incidents; recover data; improve reliability; and meet legal obligations.
Legal bases and disclosures
Where applicable, processing may rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, consent, or legal obligations. We may disclose information to hosting, infrastructure, email, support, payment, analytics, and security providers under appropriate restrictions; to authorities when legally required; or in connection with a business reorganization. We do not currently sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention and security
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, security and moderation history, backups, dispute resolution, and legal requirements. Exact production schedules remain to be approved. Talam uses password hashing, pinned encrypted connections, short-lived single-use game tickets, signed updates, least-privilege administration, audit records, rate limits, and restricted service boundaries. No system is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on location, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or information about disclosures. California residents may also have rights to know, delete, correct, limit, opt out of sale or sharing, and receive non-discriminatory treatment. Because Talam does not currently sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, no sale opt-out is presently offered. Requests may require identity verification and may be limited by security, legal, or operational exceptions.
Children
Talam is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Do not register or participate if you are under 13. Players who are minors where they live must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. Contact us if you believe a child supplied information improperly.
International use and changes
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations used by approved providers. We will provide legally required safeguards where applicable. We may update this policy as Talam changes and will revise the effective date or provide additional notice for material changes.
